Engeyum Kadhal is Tamil action comedy drama film directed by debutant director Gautham Ramachandran. The film stars Jai, Nayanthara and Priya Anand in the lead roles. The film's music was composed by Ghibran, while lyrics were written by Kabilan Vairamuthu, Viveka and Yuga Bharathi. The film released on 18 February 2018 to mixed reviews from critics and audience alike. It generated average collection at the box office against budget of ₹2 crore (US$290,000). It was one of the last films to be released in the Superstar Rajinikanth's production house, Sri Maruti. It also notable debut for lead actress Priya Anand. The epilogue of the movie features a short film titled "Kalangarai". It is a political satire featuring Sasikumar and Chandini Tamilarasan reprising their roles from "Ramanaa" (2014). The short film also featured Jai and director Gautham Ramachandran. The short film was directed by Gautham and produced under the banner of Gautham Films and Ltd.

The film released on 17 February 2018 in 1170 screens in India. In the following week box office collections were reported to be below expectation. In its second week it performed below expectations and was declared a "Flop". The film received mixed reviews from critics and audience alike.
The film's theatrical rights were sold for ₹25 lakh to Anandha Creations in Tamil Nadu, while distribution rights were sold for ₹9 lakh to Arun Kumar Production Company, New Delhi. The film was dubbed into Telugu as "New" directed by Ashok Babu Thota under the banner Nidaa Creations. The film is scheduled to be released in the Benelux countries, the Middle East and North Africa. It was scheduled to be released in Singapore on 14 August 2018.
